Mangal Dosh Shanti Pooja Temples In India
Mangalnath Temple, Ujjain, is the only temple dedicated to Maars ( Mangal ). Mangalnath Temple is a fabulous and situated in Ujjain District, Madhya Pradesh, India.
As per Indian astrology, Mangal is suposed to be blood-red in Lord Shiva. As in Matsya Purana Mangalnath is belived to be the birthplace of Mars. Most of Hindu Puranas refer to Mangaldev, is the Son of Lord Shiv and Prithvi (Bhumi, earth), Hence tha Maars is also known as Bhaum.
This temple is situated on vast expanses of the Shipra River. The Divine chief god of this temple is Lord Shiva. This temple is placed at the place, exact form where the first meridian is said to pass the earth, so this is the important place for a clear view of the planet and consequently it is the perfect place for astronomical studies.

Most famous puja is "Bhaat Puja" wherein the Curd Rice- Curd being cool soothes the hot tempered Mars God, is decorated on the Shivalinga, with abeer, gulal, sindoor is offered in plenty to the Linga. The Curd Rice Shiva linga is decorated and the face of Shri Shiva Bhagwan is made out of it.
